Cathi here.
August 30th was our 20th wedding anniversary. In honor of the occasion we spent 4 days in Gettysburg, PA, my favorite place on the planet! I'm a Civil War Nut and I do have the tee shirt to prove it.
We took two days to do the Auto Tour and still didn't get to see everything...guess that means we'll have to go back!!! Oh yeah!!! It was awe-inspiring to be there, stand in the very spots where it all happened, to walk the very ground where my all time hero, Joshua Chamberlain of the 20th Maine Regiment, walked. It was an incredible experience to look across that mile expanse between Seminary Ridge and Cemetery Ridge and try to imagine the amount of courage and commitment it took for those Confederate soldiers to make that charge, Pickett's Charge, under heavy artillery fire, knowing that the entire Federal Army was waiting for them on the other side of the stone wall.

I'm working on renaming the photos, but I hit the wrong button and wiped out an hour's work so now I have to start all over! I'm so thrilled!
Gail also told me to post about the yarn shop in Gettysburg, Misty Mountain Fiber Workshop. Lovely place, nice people. I bought two skeins of orange cotton yarn for footies. I have to wear socks at work so I knit cotton footies for summer. I'm spoiled, I only wear handknit socks!
