Materials: 2 ozs. Worsted weight yarn

Set  of size 6 double points (5 needles0, 2 circs, or one  27 or 36” circ. For the circular method of  your choice.

Yarn needle for weaving.

Gauge 5 sts. Per inch.

Cast on 32 sts.  for  small ladies(36) Large ladies. and join without twisting. Knit 1 row  and purl 1 row.

Pattern Rows:

Row 1: P6(8), *YO, K3, SL 1, K2 tog, PSSO, K3, YO, K1* repeat ending P6 (8)

Row 2, 4, 6, 8: Knit

Row 3: P6 (8), *K1, YO, K2, Sl 1, K2 tog, PSSO, K2, YO, K2*, repeat , P 6 (8)

Row 5: P6 (8), *K2, YO, K1, Sl 1, K2 tog, PSSO, K1, YO, K3* repeat,. P 6 (8)

Row 7: P6 (8), *K3, YO, SL 1, K 2 tog, PSSO, YO, K4* repeat, P6 (8)

Repeat pattern rows until piece measures approx. 4 and 1/2 inches or to desired length before thumb.

Thumb opening:

Work pattern rows back and forth (not  in the round) for  one pattern repeat. Rows 2, 4, 6 and 8 will be done in purl instead of knit.

Next  row will begin working in the round again. Work Two more pattern repeats.

Mitt top:  Knit  1 row, Purl 1 row, Knit 1 row , then bind off as if to Purl. Break off yarn, weave in ends and enjoy!
